So I have acquired a nice old round-back S5TRF, which is apparently of L&N Railroad heritage.
However: the locomotive it was on was bought by a shortline railroad after its career with the L&N was finished. That railroad painted the horn and it's a distinctive shade of green, as you can see on the photo quite clearly.
Any ideas at all what it might be? Also any ideas which L&N locomotive types would have had this horn?
All and any help or suggestions appreciated.

Maybe Nashville and Eastern?

I do believe you may have hit upon the very one!
What's more, at least one of their roster definitely came from L&N, pictured here. What horn is that...?

That’s a P3. Not to say that it wasn’t a later replacement.

I'm guessing it very likely was a replacement, given the apparent problems with the Leslie S series in active daily use on dirty diesels.

With all the work I do for the horns on the shortline I work for, the only Leslie chambers I think are worth for active use are bronze tabbies and RS.

I have a Leslie Rs5t that I had shipped to me and I'm surprised that the only thing ups broke was the rs back cap. Just curious on what to do or where to find 1
