Gave a go at restoring my first tag. It is far from perfect and still needs a little touchup, but I am pretty happy. It was very corroded and had very little relief left to it.
Tag Restoration
Re: Tag Restoration
Wow, I'm impressed! Considering how tiny some of the lettering is, it must be such a fiddly job to do.
What sort of paint did you use, a standard black synthetic enamel?

Re: Tag Restoration
Pretty simple process. I cleaned them up with the dremal, and then lightly polished them with some brasso. I pretty much gave the entire tag a skim coat of Tamiya X1 black paint. When its tacky (not dry..), I go through with an Exacto and lightly scrape the letters off. When it finally dried I gave it a healthy coat of gloss clear to even it all out. Takes about an hour start to finish.
