Finally took this off the shelf and blew the dust off of it. Off of Detroit & Mackinac #1077, who added their own shop built snow cones, this one getting them around 1989. The one on the 44 disappeared at some point (photos of it in service show it missing, but it is drilled for it). I know of two other former D&M horns in collector hands that have this very stout cones, that you could use as a weapon.
While not the most pleasant sound, it does take me home, having grown up on the East coast around no shortage of commuter RS2M's.
Re: 1952 Leslie S2MR
Does it still have a tag? Should be horizontal if it's a 1952.

Re: 1952 Leslie S2MR
So, going off of Phil Martin's guide, its got the upper text consistent with the 1953 era tag, however it also has the extra line for orifice size consistent with the 1959+ tag. Its a welded 31, so its a pre-1956/8, so I am not sure what exactly to go off of on this one.
Re: 1952 Leslie S2MR
The tag is a 1959-1962 era. Is there a date stamp on the manifold?
