DMIR P5?

Post by NickN »

Every now and again I see people speak about the Duluth Missabe and Iron Range Railway, and specifically, Old Cast P5 horns that come from its locomotives, in reverent and hushed voices.

My simple question is, why? Were they a special order, with different tuning? Or is it simply rarity appeal? Are they any different to any other P5, say SOU?

Thanks.

No different than other old cast P5’s.

Thank you, I half suspected that might be the case, but the confirmation is good to have.

So I guess it's just rarity value.
