Here are three MK, or Modification-K caps in my collection. The inner disc is threaded against the outer ring. This puts pressure on the diaphragm pack making it easier or harder to blow. The two holes in the middle disc are for lock bolts and washers. These caps were designed in response to a few Canadian railroads wanting an adjustable horn like the M series, but with the simplicity of a K horn. The majority of MK horns were MK5H's. These horns were cataloged between serial number 3232 and 3566. A single MKS-1 was sent to Great Britain for testing, but no photos of it have been found to date.
