A little experiment!

Post by Nathan_P5A »

Good morning gents! I finally got around to making a horn that peaked my curiosity a while back. It’s a 29K series K5LA with the addition of a 3B bell (440hz) and the subtraction of the 3A. I received nothing but positive feedback on YouTube after uploading the video and figured I’d share it with this crowd here. Enjoy!

Sounds really good!

I’d like to hear this same combo but with a 1L instead of a 5.

I have a separate horn just for that combo. I made it after obsessing over Jeff Hammaker’s K5LLB. The horn had a flat 4 so I had to shim up the bore with two cut out insert shims of aluminum tape to bring it up to the correct pitch, and the 1L is overblowing so I’m going to restrict it next. This horn has been quite the project but this is what I have so far. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Maddie!
