Re: Leslie A200 mounted on my Jeep, and my Prime 8911 beacon

I like it up there, my wife.....not so much. I took both off for right now. I will mount the A200 under where the spare is during the warmer months, then take it off for the winter time most likely. The beacon will go back on as soon as I figure out secure mounting to the wire basket, need it for st...

Re: Prime 8911 Beacon catalog page

I am wondering if that circuit got wet? Like the dome got busted and they left the light powered up. Thats all it would take is rain water wicking in via the wires to the lamps and getting the board wet. At that high of a voltage, Poof! Anyhow, here is a pic of my 8911, which is now mounted up there...

Leslie A200 mounted on my Jeep, and my Prime 8911 beacon

Decided to mount up the A200 to my roof basket on my Jeep, just inboard of the Hi-lift jack. Its bolted down nice and tight with the DOT connector for the air line easily accessable to be plumbed up with air(thats gonna be a project to get air up there). Then for the whole "locomotive" look, I set m...

Re: My first 2 horns

My wife got 2 sets of the K3LAs as kits with compressor, tank and lines from Horns of Texas for just under $1000 per kit. One will go on her Jeep and the Leslie A200 I have now will go on top of my Jeep Liberty in the roof basket. Being a single not honker, it wont catch the attention of the law lik...

Re: Prime 8911 Beacon catalog page

When they cleaned out the old catalogs at the short line I was a "gopher" at. They threw out the Prime catalog binder. I saved this one page, but sure wish I had kept the whole 3 ring binder catalog!!

Re: Prime 8911 Beacon catalog page

Yep, thats burnt up good, must have had something go wrong on the high voltage side of the board or the step down transformer. Wonder what happened to all the spare parts Prime had when they got bought out? I dont fire mine up much these days, once and a while to just to see if it still works. Its h...

Re: My Prime 8901 and 8911 beacon lights

I have run mine on 12vt for years without any problems. I know the base gets quite warm as its the heat sink for the SCR transfomers that take the load of the lamps. I am wondering if LED floods you can get now that are the size as the old PAR36 sealed beams would help ease the load on the SCR's? Th...
